Supermarket Stabbing

I needed to go to the store and was planning on doing that all day today. Come 5 p.m. though, I was tired and didn't want to go. I talked myself back in to it, but by the time I got to my car, I decided to go home and not shop afterall. What was on the news tonight? At MY supermarket at the EXACT time that I was going to be there (5:30 p.m.), a guy bought a knife at the store and started randomly stabbing people. One person was stabbed in the head, another in the stomach.

My friend at work said that it was the Spirit that told me not to go. I said, really? Because it felt more like I was just being lazy. She said that people hear the still small voice in different ways. I said I must be pretty spiritual because I feel lazy all the time which must mean its protecting me from something. All joking aside though, it was VERY close that I was going to be there and changed my plans at the last minute.

Sick Days

I had one day back at work and then had to take two full sick days and two half days on Thursday and Friday where I was only able to work 5 hours each day. Today I was so weak in the shower I had to turn the shower off to sit down and rest before being able to finish. Then I had to leave Church early because I was so weak. Amazingly, I lost 10 pounds because of it!

Final Days

Friday, I went with Jenny's family hiking in St. George. it was funny to see Jenny's boys trying to slide between the holes in the wall of rock. We all ended up at mom and dad's condo for swimming and dinner. Deborah had flown out the day before to go to Minnesota for her brother's funeral. I rode home with Dana on Saturday because they had an extra space in their car and mom and dad had decided to stay in St. George an extra day.

Fun Times

For Day 2, we all went to California Adventure (after a brief time in Disneyland early in the day where we lost Micah for a 1/2 hour - Cody found him thankfully). The park was so crowded that when we got our FastPass in the morning for Tower of Terror, we couldn't use it until 5:30 p.m. We did get to see Jason in his Aladdin show and took pictures with the cast afterward. It was fun to see him so many times during the show too. You should have seen TJ devour a chicken leg! He was so carniverous!

I was so tired by the end of the evening that dad took me back to the hotel early. Jenny sent Christian with me and we went to bed early. It was nice to catch up on some sleep as I'd been having some early wake up calls thanks to Chris (totally worth it though with how cute he was!). Tuesday morning he work me up because he was laughing in his sleep.

Wednesday we were back in Disney. Since there were supposed to be severe thunderstorms all day the park had much less people. I was able to get on seven rides in an hour with Jenny's family and then the rest of the rides during a decent time for the rest of the day. I didn't stay for the light show that night but had dad take me back to the hotel again. I called Jason and he came over and we talked a lot and played cards. It was good to catch up.

In the morning we headed to Huntington Beach. It was cold, but we got in the water anyway. Jer got a little too far out there and dad made Jason go out to save him. Jason did the whole Baywatch run and dive. But the water was so cold when he came up out of the water, he couldn't even speak to ask Jer if he was okay. It was pretty funny. The rest of the day we spent driving back to St. George.

We're Goin to Disneyland!

Eighteen of us headed to St. George for our family trip to Disneyland. We met up at Chuck-A-Rama for dinner Saturday night and then Sunday after Church we went to the temple for pictures. As it was Easter, mom snuck some candy onto mine and Jodie's beds while we were getting ready in the morning and were out of the room.

Once we were in California, I stayed with Jenny and her family. I shared a bed with Christian and he was sooo cute the whole time. Monday morning when we all got up early to head to Disneyland, Chris realized that we were going to the park and climbed all over me in bed and kept saying 'Today? Today is the day we go to Disneyland?' It was pretty cute. Then he gave me little kisses all up my cheek, and over my eyelids to my forehead, then down my nose and onto my lips. Little soft ones that were super cute.

Lori and Cody had gone to California early and met up with the rest of our group so we were a total of twenty at Disney. In the evening, Jodie, Cody, Lori, and I went over to California Adventure to see Jason dance in his Electronika Show. Loved his eighties jeans and then when he danced in his go-go box.

Darling Dad

How cute is my dad?!! At work, we're frequently given extra Jazz tickets that don't sell. They give them to Church employees so the stands will be full of people during the game. This has happened so much that I think it's led to a game fatigue. I get turned down all the time from people that I call to see if they're interested in the tickets. Today, I got 12 tickets for the game against the Phoenix Suns. When I called the Allstate office to see if my brother Dana was interested in any, he said no. My dad who fielded the call said hesitantly (since I didn't offer them to him), that he would be interested. Then he asked me who he could take and he loved my idea! He showed up at my place to pick up the tickets just before the game started with his car stuffed full of young men and investigators from his Spanish ward. Then he texted me from the game to get the addresses of nearby fast-food joints so they could grab something to eat afterward. Talk about a guy who magnifies his calling. Love him!

My Favorite Felix's

I helped Amy Felix get some tickets for her and a date to go to General Conference. In gratitude, and completely uncalled for, she took me out to Winger's tonight as a thank you. Mostly we were just looking for an excuse to go since we both love that place so much and Amanda hates it. We have to have good reasons in order to get Amanda there with us!

After dinner we went and saw the new movie Mirror, Mirror, then had frozen yogurt at Juicy Berry. I love the Asian Tart! It was a fun night, not even diminished by Amanda walking through some lady's puke outside the movie door. Well, for me anyway...  ;-)
