Last One -

'This morning Tamera was reading aloud the scriptures to us at the breakfast table and she stopped and whispered to Jenny. Jenny said 'go ahead and read it out loud.' So Tammy gulped and read the word 'hell'. Glen and I chuckled.'  (October 7, 1986)

I've made piles of things for me to take on my trip Monday. The electronics pile is almost larger than my clothes pile! It wouldn't be so bad, but the majority of it is cords and chargers. Hope I don't forget anything!

When it All Started...

'Tammy has become such a lovely young lady. She loves playing with her friends. She got so thin a couple of months ago and complains of her heart hurting. It was racing so we took her to the doctor and she had a high strep infection in her blood. She's been on aspirin and penicillin since then... She does very well in school... She's a good girl and reminds me constantly of me when I was little.'  (January 3, 1985)  I was seven. Heart problems at seven!

'The school district called to say Tammy had been chosen to go to the Gifted and Talented class offered at Barrett School. She was the only one from our area! We said no thanks.'  (September 11, 1986)

More Entries

'Tamera is a character! So stubborn and bossy! She is like two going on seventeen. But I love her. She is worth two of any other little kid I know. Which is probably why I have to work twice as hard with her.' (July 19, 1980)

'Tamera's birthday! We gave her a new doll and presents and sent cookies to school for her. Made her a cake and did her chores for her. She came up and told me she loved me and later said thanks for her birthday. Tamera doesn't display affection as much as the rest so I was very impressed and touched.'  (September 8, 1982)

'Tamera loves school and other kids. She doesn't demand as much help and attention so I must make sure she gets it.'

Mom's Journal

For our birthdays this year, mom has been giving all the kids in the family copies of the journal entries she wrote of when we were growing up. She puts the entries pertaining to each of the kids into a binder. It's pretty interesting reading about yourself growing up from a mom's perspective...as well as seeing what she writes about the other kids if they happened to have an entry on the same page. I think my next few blogs are going to be entries from her journal. Here's the first -

'I cut Tamera's hair! I was really nervous about it but it turned out darling. Now she has a cap of curls. She thinks she's all grown up and you can't tell her anything. She sure is cute though.'  (May 28, 1980)

Lunch Guests!

Jenny and the boys came down to have lunch with me. The original plan was that we would go picnic in a nearby park and then after they would go to the Church History Museum. The boys wanted to go to my apartment though so we ended up there instead with Jenny too tired after (she's recovering from a cold) to go to the museum. Really nice of her to come all the way down then just for me! Jeremy was very interested in trying out my pilates machine, then everyone had to have a turn on it as well as my treadmill. I'd be surprised if the smaller ones didn't fall asleep on the way home.

Yesterday I woke up unable to get out of bed because my back hurt. I stayed down off of it the entire day and then babied it today too. There is no way I want it to be hurting when I go on my trip next week!

Sci Fi and Fantasy Don't Mix

Lori and I met up down at the new University Mall Cinemark to watch Cowboys and Aliens. I love Science Fiction, and I love Fantasy, but somehow the two of them together just doesn't feel right!

Amy and Amanda came over for a sleepover since Amy has an early morning flight out to Minneapolis. Got to love my apartment with the spare bedroom and bath for guests!

Pride and Prejudice

Once again I HAD to watch a movie to prepare for my upcoming trip. This time it was the five hour A&E version of Pride and Prejudice. Jodie agreed to watch it with me even though she was tired. Turns out she was the one who stayed awake and I fell asleep! I really need to rewatch the last hour now...  I went down to PG to spend the night and to watch. It was so nice to have the basement to myself for a rare time in three years! Thank you Kevin for being out of town!

SWEET Tooth Fairy

For work we 'had' to sample the tasty treats at the Sweet Tooth Fairy. Six cupcakes and six cake bites later (quarter sections of each), I thought I was going to pass out in a sugar dream. Red velvet is still my favorite cupcake, but that key lime cake bite is delicious too!

I got a letter from Bailey in the mail today. It reminded me of the movie Dear Frankie that I watched last weekend. The little boy in it always says in his letters - guess what? - or - guess what else? When she said 'guess what' I thought it was so cute and heard a Scottish accent in my mind while reading it.

Don't know why I'm so fascinated by the sky at night during my walks, but here are some more pictures from it. I was winked at by a cute guy tonight and thought I was being followed by another. I made some defensive moves and discovered...he was just exercising as well. Only a little embarrassing!



Today was dad's birthday. I called him to sing in the morning and then in the afternoon I texted him saying I was still thinking about him and that I loved him. His response was cute - That is sure sweet. You and Mom!

Four Down

I've officially gotten four movies down on my list: Northanger Abbey, Nottinghill, Dear Frankie, and Becoming Jane.  Looks like I can hit all those Jane Austen sites now!

Summer Swimming

It seems I've had a number of weekends playing with the Felix's lately. Today was no exception. They treated me to Winger's and went for a swim in my pool. So funny to see them doing their handstand contests! Since I'm currently watching movies in preparation for my trip to the U.K., we finished the evening up by watching Dear Frankie. Yep, still love it!

Guess Who's Coming For Dinner?

Or should I say - lunch. Dana and Lori! They were in town for an Allstate training and took me to the Olive Garden for lunch after...Dana's treat! Lovely!

Trent Pearson is a JINX!

So, what happened as I was driving home tonight? I got pulled over and ticketed for speeding! I blame Trent for being a jinx. I'm also a little suspicious as the officer brought up Murray City and that is Trent's district...

Fifteen mph over that he reduced to five. In my defense, there was a crazy lady chasing me on the road. She had flipped me off and was hanging out her window yelling at me. I don't know why. I think the car next to her had yelled something at her, but she thought it was me. I can't believe I got punished for that!

Eldon and Eulala Pack Family Reunion

The Pack family met up at Mutual Dell in the American Fork Canyon for our annual reunion. I got some England talk in with the cousins of course. Trent and I discussed police officers and how if your honest, you don't necessarily get ticketed. He said he's got a whole Matrix going on in his head when he's deciding to give a ticket or not and that honesty is definitely one of the factors. Point in my favor!

After, I had dinner at the Olive Garden with Amy and Amanda, went for a walk around the Capitol with them, and then we dipped our feet in my swimming pool. We ended up lying out there chatting for awhile and then started snapping photos. Lots and lots of photos.

Obsession?

Do you know I'm obsessed with SYTYCD? Ricky and Caitlyn were kicked off this week, and rightly so. Love. Love. LOVED! Melanie and Tadd's dance. Jason was featured once again in a flashback to last week's filming. He wasn't too happy that they used the shot of when he was trying not to cry.

I also liked this dance from a previous episode.  TWITCH!!!

Skies After a Downpour

I go for a walk at night up around the Capitol building. I thought it was going to have to be cancelled due to a torrential downpour that started right before I was going to leave. Fortunately, it cleared up and turned into a beautiful night so I still went. I got some good pictures of the rainbow left afterward and the reflection of the sun on the clouds that were left after the storm.

Jewelry Tree

Thanks to Jodie and Jenny's birthday present, I'm finally able to see all of my necklaces at once instead of having them in little piles in my jewelry box. Apparently I like necklaces.



I was sick again today. My blood pressure was actually normal at 112/72 instead of being low, but my pulse was at 60 - after walking around the floor. It made for me feeling very sick.
