Just Doesn't Surprise Me

I only went to work for half a day today due to two doctors' appointments. I had my dental check-up and cleaning then headed to my first OBGYN visit ever. People were starting to make me think I was crazy for not going in before now so I decided it was time. And what did they find? A lump. Yep, if there is a health condition...I've got it! The doctor thought it was a cyst, but it feels just off enough that she wants to make sure and is sending me in for more testing. I go in for an ultrasound in two weeks to find out more (first available opening).

Weekend Fun

Lori and I met half-way in Draper last night to go see the new Janet Evanovich movie. It was just like the book, meaning mom will really like it when she goes to see it. I still think it's funny remembering her reading one of the books during our trip to New York after Christmas 2010. She laughed so hard!

Today, Amy and Amanda knew I wasn't feeling well so they came up and brought me dinner and lounged with me to watch a couple of movies. What great friends!

Dealer

My addictions are all being fed...by the same person! When I got to work this morning, MaryAnn, a coworker and friend, had left a delicious key lime pie for me on my desk. She had been out for dinner the night before with her daughter and thought about me when she saw it. A delicious surprise!

Also, she and another coworker, Kathy, have been trying to suck me in to the craziness of the Miche bags. I have put up a good resistance for two years. Until, I finally saw one that I liked and decided to go all in. If I'm going to buy one, I might as well get some options with it! Everytime I see one I like now I have to have it! MaryAnn laughed when she heard I was in and welcomed me to her coven. I told her to stop laughing and just put me in contact with her dealer. I'm just waiting for the order to arrive now... 

Flashbacks

Karen, Shauna, and their mom Barbara came to Salt Lake today to spend the day in the Family History library. We met up for lunch at the Blue Lemon and had a great time laughing and reminiscing over our time in England. At one point, Barbara had to wipe her eyes because she was crying from laughing so hard. My cheeks definitely ached from smiling so much. I realized after I made it back to work that I forgot to give them the parking token to get out of the Conference Center. So, at 5 p.m., I walked over and found Karen down in the British Isles section of the library (she's researching her husband's Scottish line), and we ended up chatting again. Then Shauna came over and I talked with her too...it was another hour before I headed home for my trudge up the hill. So worth it though! I don't know if it's because we have similar senses of humor thanks to being family, but they are fun to laugh with!

Letters Galore

Church was really good yesterday. We took care of our visiting teaching before and after the block, AND I actually found a Sunday School class that I somewhat like. Plus, I had friends to sit with in every meeting which makes the entire experience feel more comfortable.

Today at work I got my stack of letters back that I wrote last week. Can you believe the size of this? It took me almost an entire day to read all these cases and do these letters.

Wet Chauffeur

I spent the night at mom's because we wanted to go to the 8:30 a.m. Spanish endowment session at the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple. Dad had been asked to go to his assignment a little bit early so that he could help out at the end. Mom and I just barely made it in to the packed session. It makes you appreciate hearing the endowment in your own language! I was fine for most of it, and finished it up in English. Mindy came too and I gave her a Christmas present. After, we went out to eat at Winger's and mom announced to Mindy that Kevin is going to be moving out since new people are moving in! It was very exciting. Mindy's car battery had died while we were in there so we her to give her a jump. In the POURING rain.

Then, mom and I went to see the movie Sherlock Holmes. The whole day I played chauffeur and would drive her to the door of the temple, then walk in the pouring rain. Then I'd go get the car in the pouring rain for her. Same with at lunch and going to the movie. I was soaked! Then we get into the movie and mom asks for my coat to put over her legs because she was cold. She wanted to know why my coat was so wet it was almost soaked through. I don't think she was properly penitent when I explained it was due to me being out in the rain so much so that she would remain dry and comfortable...

Game Night

I drove to PG again after work. Dad had made a really nice dinner and then Dana's kids came over for us to babysit while their parents went to a funeral. Lori came over and we turned it in to a game night. Isn't this a crazy little girl? She didn't like to keep her socks on...on her feet anyway!
