Early Easter

Since we'll be in California next week for Easter, we had our annual Easter egg hunt and weinie roast a week early. It worked out well as it was in between sessions of General Conference. No new temples were announced. :-(

Dad made his homemade rootbeer, with help from two grandsons, I hid eggs for the older grandkids, and we had a big luncheon outside by the firepit. It didn't end up being nearly as windy as was forecast so we didn't have any problems w/the bonfire. Also, since everyone was together, we had the March and April birthday parties.

The Things We Do

Seriously, the things I'll do for beauty! Another painful laser appointment today. This was the first time ever that I've had to ask the technician to stop so I could take a breather in between. I don't think I'm going to let them go up a level again next time!

I had to leave work a little early to get to that appointment, which was a very good thing since traffic ended up being bad after I drove through due to spring breaks starting in Utah. I finished in time to meet up with all the girls except Jenny (including grandma, Deborah, Sarah, and Rossy) for dinner together at Tucano's. It was good to catch up again!

Lunch w/Lisa

Steven is going for training back in Washington D.C., so he flew out of the SLC airport and Lisa drove him down so that she could spend some time at mom's during the week he'll be out of town. They (Lisa, Matthew, and Grant) stopped by my work so we could have lunch together after the airport. I waved at them down in their car from the window by my office, and they could see me! Lisa had packed a lunch for us which we ate at my place. I played a little Home on the Range for them on my guitar and we had a sing-a-long before I had to head back to work.

Bad Day

Well, I had another bad day today. When I was standing at work I got very faint and had to lean against the wall. Then, it started to seem like a very good idea all of a sudden to sit on the floor, so I started sliding down the wall. Fortunately, a co-worker saw me and came over to brace me and help me get back to my desk and a chair. Unfortunately, it was the start of a bad day. My blood pressure was low AND my heart rate was low. It felt very weak. I finally had to go lay down in the bathroom until it got a little better. It came back though and this time the blood pressure was low while my pulse was elevated and beating arrhythmically. That. Hurts. After about 45 minutes of that, I decided to go home since it was getting too hard to keep myself from crying. I broke down in the parking garage and had to sit in my car trying to get the crying under control before driving home. I also had to put my sunglasses on in the garage so the security guards wouldn't worry as I drove past them. But, I made it home and it did start getting better after lying down for awhile, though the headache that came was killer.

My visiting teaching partner and teachee were scheduled to come to my place at 5 p.m. and since it's so hard to get this lady to commit, I couldn't cancel. So, I managed to put on a good face during the visit (glad they came to me though!), even when the teachee walked into my apartment carrying her dog. Her. Dog. We all know how I feel about that! But, I made it through and now get to lie here for the rest of the evening, thankfully.

I knew this day was going to be bad when the first experience made sitting on the floor, in a dress, at work, sound like a good idea! The floor??!

A Special, Special Day

Today is a special, special day. Why is it so special? The new Cheesecake Factory (CF) just opened downtown in the new City Creek development. I may have gone there for lunch already...and I may have plans to go there again on Saturday. Love me some Parmesan Chicken! In the sandwich. And the cheesecake of course. People at work have been laughing at my obsession.

In other news, I learned a new song on my guitar tonight! AND, the movie Hunger Games comes out at midnight tonight. Lori and I have tickets to go see it on Saturday. That's going to make for a great double-header thanks to CF too!

Down in the Dumps

Some of the test results came back from bloodwork I had done at the doctor's. They called to get my pharmacy phone number so they could immediately call in a prescription for my 'remarkable low vitamin D'.  I was expecting a supplement of 1 or 2,000 units. Yeah, they put me on the maximum of 50,000 units a day to get it up. I guess that's toxic if you take for longer than 3 weeks, so I'll be on it for 21 days and then will go to a lower dosage for my supplement.

Do you know the side effects of low vitamin D?  I looked it up:

- Pain in your muscles and bones

- Low energy levels, chronic fatigue

- Depression or sadness without knowing why
- Memory problems

- Inability to lose weight

Sound familiar?

Busy Time

Since Kim is in town, she came up to spend the night at my place on Thursday along with Karen and Shauna. They wanted to be able to spend two days at the Family History Library without having to drive back and forth to Utah County. I picked them up from the Library and we went and grabbed something to eat and took it back to my place where we talked and played games until midnight. Then Karen and I ended up talking for another hour and a half while in bed.

Friday morning I got up and ready and then made them breakfast. I may have had cereal myself while they had blueberry pancakes and bacon... At work I've been working on a big project that I had to try squeezing in along with a funeral for my previous boss, Bob Dunford's, mother up in Kaysville, and a visit to the office by Amy and Amanda Felix. During the morning I got a phone call from mom saying she missed me and asking me to come down and spend the weekend. So, as soon as work was over I rushed home and packed a bag then headed to PG so I'd be in time to catch an initiatory gathering with her Spanish ward at 6 p.m.

Today mom and I took grandma to the movies and also tried making easter eggs out of sugar. Jenny wanted us to try it out to see if decorating the eggs would be a fun thing we could do this year while the guys went to Priesthood session. It did not work very well...
