Goodbye to Panorama!

My day off work for Pioneer Day wasn't much of a vacation. Instead, I used the day to move from my penthouse apartment in the Panorama building to my new home in East Millcreek. Jenny's family all came to help me move, and Kevin even rode his motorcycle up to Salt Lake to help us unload. It was a hot and tiring day, but I'm in! The next day, Amanda came up to Salt Lake to help me finish up with the cleaning at the old place. She even climbed over the balcony in order to access the outside windows on the south side. The neighbor thought she was a jumper, but the windows did look nice!

Patriotic Weekend

Since Steven was being made a lieutenant in the Air Force, I drove w/mom and dad up to Mountain Home, Idaho for the weekend. We went right to the ceremony on Friday, which was particularly cute because Grant and Matthew got to change out his epaulets. Saturday there was bowling and Sunday we celebrated Steven's birthday and were there while he was ordained as a High Priest (he's now the new Group Leader).  Mom, dad, and I got a few Rook games in while we were there too.

Relief Again

Not only do I have a place to live now, but I finally just sold my old car!!! I've had people come test drive it, say they were going to buy, even get a bill of sale, only to back out afterward. So, I finally just took it to Carmax and I am now a convert! They were so easy to work with, fast, friendly, AND gave me $700 MORE than what I was asking for in my private sale. They even gave me a ride afterward to the Trax station so I could get home. It was a great experience and now I finally have some much needed cash!

Home on the Range!

Yay! Finally! After more than a month searching for a new place to live, I finally found the right one for me. I checked out a place yesterday, but it was a no. Today I went to another one and it is great. It is a five bedroom, three and a half bath place. I have the huge master bedroom, bath, and walk-in closet. There is a garden tub, separate shower, and separate large toilet room. The other two girls who are living there each have two bedrooms and their own baths. On the basement level, one of the girls has her bedrooms, bath, and a living room. On the main floor there is the kitchen, dining area, half bath, family room, and living room. There isn't any furniture in the living room so I'll be bringing that in. Then on the top floor are three more bedrooms, two baths, and an empty loft space that I'll also be using. I'm thinking that is where my musical instruments will go... Anyway, the roommates seem great. They've already given me a key and I've got my movers lined up for Tuesday, July 24, since I have that day off of work. What a load off!

Flat Trade

Jenny called and asked if I would trade her and Brett flats for a night. So, Friday night she came to my place and I went to Heber to stay and watch the boys so her and Brett could relax. Nate was away for scout camp, but the other four were still there and they. were. so. CUTE! Jer grilled us steaks for dinner and then wouldn't let me in the kitchen afterward to help clean up. He took care of everything! Then, this morning I woke up at 9:16 a.m. and couldn't believe none of them had come in to wake me up earlier. When I went out into the living room, Micah, TJ, and Christian were all sitting there watching TV and said they didn't want to wake me up because they thought I needed my 'rest'. I asked if they'd had breakfast and they said they were waiting for me first. Then, they wanted to know what I wanted because that was what they wanted then too. They were all so well-behaved, thoughtful, and cute. I could babysit a whole lot more if it's always like that!

I'm still house-hunting and went to check out another place after the Zabel's. It was a no-go, but I have another appointment set up for tomorrow.

Shower Number Dos!

I drove down to PG to attend another baby shower for Lori. Cody's family threw it and I think it turned out quite nicely. There were so many cute things given! Seriously, I need to have a baby just to dress up in all the super cute clothes. There were also five or six pairs of shoes. Made me give a shout out to Carrie Bradshaw...Heeello Loooovers!

After the party, Amy, Amanda, and I met up w/Danielle Taylor Westra for a little reminiscing get together at a frozen yogurt place in Pleasant Grove. It was fun to catch up together!

Mimi my MINI

I've had several people contact me about buying my car. A co-worker has a cousin who needs to buy a car though and they came this past Saturday to the house to test drive and yesterday they called and said they want to buy it. The exchange was planned for today, and seeing as how I didn't want to be left w/out a car, Amy and Amanda came up (YAY!) and gave me a ride to the dealership so I could pick up my new MINI Cooper Hardtop. It's so cute! We went a little crazy on the waiting room pictures while the car was being detailed...  A few people at work held a contest to name it and the winner is...Mimi!

Of course, now I haven't heard from the buyers all day. :-(
